Biography

Lauren Timek is a professional performing artist born and raised in Northeast Pennsylvania. She has 25+ years of training in classical ballet, pointe, classical jazz, commercial jazz, contemporary/ lyrical, modern, character, hip hop, pantomime, musical theater, and voice performance. Lauren’s training has taken place across the tristate area with several certification programs, professional instructors and companies including Gina Malsky-Prokop , Trinette Singleton (Joffrey Ballet–The Cecchetti Method), Rapheal Cooper, Barbara Weisberger (Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet – The Balanchine Method), NAPE Broadway Theatre and Dance Company, Linn Mariani (Cats, Broadway), Jamie Verazin & Mark Stuart (Mark Stuart Dance Company), Andrew Buleza (former principal dancer of the Tambu-ritzansFolk Ensemble), and multiple other instructors (Atlanta Ballet, Alvin Ailey Dance Theatre, Broadway Dance Center). In addition to dance, Lauren has been a vocalist for over 20 years and is trained in the Estill Voice Method.

Lauren has held title roles in over 50 local, regional and off broadway musical theatre productions. She made her Broadway debut in 2000 appearing in Broadway’s “The Nutcracker” and again in 2001 for Broadway’s “Cinderella” alongside of Ryan Stiles and Colin Mochrie of “Whose Line Is It Anyway?”. She was then selected as an Ensemble Dancer and character actress in Disney’s Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. Most recently, Lauren reprised her favorite role as “Belle” from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast at Little Theatre of Wilkes Barre – a charter member of American National Theatre and Academy.
